Solar Lighting

One large solar generator was implemented for small electric tools to increase production quality and quantity of the organic farm. Ten small solar generators were installed in homes in the mountains for charging phones, running laptops and minimal lighting. The project “Community Home Lighting System and Small Scale Livelihood Projects Using Solar Energy” in Barangay Begong, Municipality of Tigbao, Zamboanga del Sur was fully in 2015.

The organization’s effort in maximizing environment-friendly sources of power or renewable energy is now certain with this project. It adds color to our long advocacy on protecting and rehabilitating the environment since this project is the first in the entire province which is implemented by a people’s organization.

For the 1.6 KW Organic Fertilizer Processing Center Package, is in operation since April 10, 2012, barely 3 months after the project approval. Since then, the water pump, vermin tea brewer and other electrical needs of the center are now supplied by the system. Feedback in 2022 reports the system is still functional.
